Idea Generation

Synopsis:

The film will open with a car coming up a drive way leading to a normal farm house. We then see a little girl, whose name we learn is Sophie, sat in the car holding a teddy bear sat in the back of the car with a blank face. The scene cuts to a older woman named Jill carrying bags into the house and the young girl following, Jill shouts of a girl named Lucy but there is no response so Jill takes Sophie upstairs with her to find Lucy. Lucy is seen laid on her bed on her laptop with headphones in and loud music playing. Jill gets Lucy's attention and introduces Sophie to Lucy as her new little sister. Lucy storms out of the house slamming the door. The next scene is of Jill picking up the laundry and knocking on Lucy's room and quietly sits on her bed. Lucy and Jill have a conversation about how Lucy thinks Jill is trying to replace Alex with Sophie even though she knows nothing can ever replace her little sister. The audience then learns that Alex was Lucy's younger sister who was killed in a car accident with her father. Jill argues that its been 2 years and they need to try and fill the holes in their hearts. The next scene is of Jill telling Lucy to go call for Sophie to eat her tea, Lucy goes upstairs and sees Sophie sat on her bed talking to her teddy, this is a shock for her as she has never heard Sophie speak. Lucy and Sophie go downstairs. Jill informs Lucy that the next night she has to babysit Sophie as she is going out for a meal with some old friends. The next scene is of Jill putting earrings in through the mirror you can see Sophie stood behind her and staring in a creepy way. Jill tries to talk to Sophie but she just runs away to her own room and shuts the door. Jill knocks on Lucy's door and informs her that she is going out for the night and that she has left some money for pizza and that she shouldn't wait up for her to come home as it might be late. Lucy just scoffs. Later that night Lucy goes to Sophie's room to ask her what she wants from the pizza place and walks in on Sophie talking to the walls that have been drawn all over. Lucy gets mad at Sophie and Sophie is adamant that she didn't do it and that it was Delilah . Lucy storms downstairs shouting that Sophie is crazy and goes to order her pizza to find the phones are down. She tries her mobile and luckily gets through to the pizza shop. While she waits for her delivery she sits and watches TV. A loud crash is heard from upstairs so she shouts of Sophie and tells her to stop messing around and tidy up whatever mess she has made. When another crash is heard she sighs and goes upstairs to see the bookshelf knocked over, she shouts of Sophie again and hears a hushed whisper and giggle coming from the bathroom. She slowly opens the door whilst shouting of Sophie and sees the bathroom is flooded and Sophie is stood in the corner with a smile on her face. Lucy asks Sophie 'what the hell' she is doing and Sophie tells her that Delilah wanted a bath. Lucy tells Sophie she is weird and sends her to her room but Sophie protests saying Delilah will get mad if she doesn't get what she wants. Lucy asks Sophie where Delilah is and Sophie says she doesn't know. Lucy sends Sophie to her room and then proceeds to tidy the mess. The doorbell rings and Lucy goes downstairs to see the delivery man with a pizza waiting in the rain. She quickly invites him in while she runs to get the money, when she returns she sees Sophie talking to the pizza man, Lucy tells Sophie to go back to her room. Lucy apologizes for Sophie and the pizza man argues that its fine and that she's a sweet girl. once the pizza man has left Lucy takes the pizza in the kitchen and eats a slice. She then goes upstairs to ask Sophie if she wants any but can't find her. She looks in every room then hears Sophie's laugh and the sound of the door slamming. She runs downstairs and sees the pizza man's car leaving the drive way. She runs screaming in the rain but doesn't catch up so she runs back to the house and tries to ring the police but remembers that the lines are down. She runs down the drive and goes to ask the neighbors if she can use their phone but she spots the pizza man's car parked next to their barn. She runs down shouting of Sophie. Finding a heavy stick on the floor she quietly creeps up on the car and goes to the drivers side to see the pizza man dead with his head against the wheel. She screams. The barn door is open so she runs in and there is only one solo light on and Sophie is stood at the bottom staring at her. Lucy slowly and quietly walks towards Sophie asking her what happened. Sophie says 'I told you Delilah doesn't like it when she doesn't get her own way' and runs off behind something. The barn door slams and Lucy quickly runs to get Sophie and then tries to open the barn door only to find it is locked. Sophie tells Lucy that Delilah doesn't like her and Lucy tells Sophie to stop messing around and asks her again what happened to the man. Sophie tells her that Delilah happened. Lucy finally gets the door open and runs up to the house. She tries to ring her mam on her mobile and tells her mam that there has been an emergency and that she needs to come home. Things start flying around the house and Lucy hides in the corner and cries. Once things stop flying around Lucy slowly and shakily gets up and walks around the house, Sophie is stood at the bottom of the corridor and tells Lucy to hurry and come and play. Lucy slowly walks towards her and Sophie laughs. They go in the playroom and the toys are everywhere and are all flying around on their own. Lucy tries to turn them off but they won't stop so she grabs Sophie's hand and runs to the living room and kneels down to talk to her. The lights start flickering and a glass is heard smashing. Lucy ducks and the house starts shaking. All of a sudden the lights turn out and Sophie tells Lucy not to worry and that she will take Delilah home now. Sophie walks out of the room and a the front door slams and Jill runs in and holds Lucy while she cries. The next scene is of a police officer at the front door telling Jill they will send a search party out to find Sophie. The next scene is of them packing boxes and moving to a new house. The next scene is of Lucy looking out of the window and seeing Sophie stood on the other side of the road and when a car drives past she is gone.
