Secondary Audience Research

This is the Haunting in Connecticut 2 Comparable Profile.
There is only 12% difference between the amount of males and females that watched this film, its almost a 50/50 split. 56% of the people that watched this film are between the ages of 15-24 and the rest are all aged older this is due the bbfc age restriction placed on the movie. The 15 age limit placed on the film is there for a number of different reasons

According to the BBFC the 15 certificate means that the film could include any of the following;
  • strong violence - should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury, sadistic or sexualised violence is unlikely.
  • frequent strong language - there is no upper limit, there may be uses of the strongest terms.
  • portrayals of sex activity - no graphic detail, can be quite long, include nudity, strong references to sex and sexual behaviour.
  • drug taking - must not promote or encourage drug misuse.
This is the Shutter Island Comparable Profile. I wanted the profile for The Woman In Black but there wasn't one available so Shutter Island was given as it is a movie that had a similar comparable profile, also if you went to see Shutter Island in the cinema the likely hood of The Woman in Black trailer being advertised is very high.
There is 20% difference between the amount of males and females that watched this film. There is quite a big difference.
As The Woman in Black is certificated as a 12A and Shutter Island is a 15 the percentages for the ages aren't the same as they would be for The Woman in Black.
